I’m sure most of you are excited about the Death Cab For Cutie show in Manila this coming Monday. So here’s an mp3 of my cover of “Debate Exposes Doubt”. And here’s a story as well:
I recorded the first half of this song in early 2008. Somehow, I didn’t get to finish it and it got buried underneath my other projects over the years. I was able to unearth it again just this January 2012 (fresh from the DCFC Manila show announcement), and decided to finally finish the second half. It’s quite appropriate that I continued this at the point where it says “Finally, there is clarity, and there is purpose after all…”
A lot of things have happened since 2008 — Ciudad’s Bring Your Friends, Hannah+Gabi’s Haha Yes, several other DCFC covers, and a million other fun things and learning experiences. You can actually compare the 2 halves of this track and you might notice how I’ve “matured” and how I’ve simplified my musical palette in 4 years.
